The epitome of cowardice...

I wonder how many people have considered how successful the September 11, 2001 islamic attacks were. Think about what they accomplished. They thrust islam to the center of the world, they undoubtedly caused more people to learn about islam than would have prior to their attacks. And the attacks combined with the near non-response of the U.S. doubtlessly gained converts. Furthermore, what response the United States did produce resulted in the establishment, enrichment, and training of the officially muslim nations of Iraq and Afghanistan, and the enrichment and training of countless other muslim nations around the globe. Islam now stands better suited than ever to wage jihad across the world. The September 11 attacks also resulted in muslims being portrayed as victims around the world and helped advance their jihad even as muslims further vilified America, and Western values. And finally the crowning achievement of the September 11 islamic attacks, nine years after New York is to have a triumphal mosque at Ground Zero. This is stunning. It is bizarre. Plan for mosque near World Trade Center site

A proposal to build a mosque steps from Ground Zero received the support of a downtown committee despite some loved ones of 9/11 victims finding it offensive.
The 13-story mosque and Islamic cultural center was unanimously endorsed by the 12-member Community Board 1's financial district committee.

The $100 million project, called the Cordoba House, is proposed for the old Burlington Coat Factory building at Park Place and Broadway, just two blocks from the World Trade Center site.

"I think it will be a wonderful asset to the community," said committee Chairman Ro Sheffe.

Imam Feisel Abdul Rauf, who helped found the Cordoba Initiative following the 9/11 attacks, said the project is intended to foster better relations between the West and Muslims.

He said the glass-and-steel building would include a 500-seat performing arts venue, a swimming pool and a basketball court. "There's nothing like it," said Rauf, adding that facilities will be open to all New Yorkers.

In the wake of a mass shooting by a military psychiatrist, the Army's top doctor acknowledged his service needs to improve how it manages medical officers, including using more candor in reviewing their officers' performance, but Lt. Gen. Eric Schoomaker, the Army surgeon general, told USA TODAY there's no evidence his staff "could have predicted" that Maj. Nidal Hasan, the man accused of killing 13 people at Fort Hood in Texas, "could have become a mass murderer."

In the 12 years that Hasan, an Army psychiatrist, was trained and promoted to major, he may not have been "an ideal clinician, not an ideal professional soldier," Schoomaker said, but, "I don't see anywhere in there, and no one has ever intimated that we should have been able to see from what we saw that this man would have become the alleged mass murderer that he is or is accused of being."

Last week, Defense Secretary Robert Gates released the findings of an independent review of the shooting conducted by former Army secretary Togo West and retired admiral Vern Clark. It recommends reviewing officer standards used by medical supervisors in Hasan's case -- "Some signs were clearly missed; others ignored," the review concludes, urging that officers who supervised Hasan be held accountable. Gates directed Army Secretary John McHugh to act on the recommendations.

Well, there you go. There's "no evidence" anyone could have predicted that Maj. Nidal Hasan could have become a mass murderer. The Army will do a formal review and produce an update to their standards.

And nowhere, in any of these reports are the words islam or jihad mentioned, but...

Hasan attended a radical mosque.
Hasan was communicating with a radical Imam tied to al-Qaeda.
Hasan expressed anti-US and pro-jihad sentiments to his colleagues.
Hasan identified himself as a "Soldier of allah."
Hasan sent money to Pakistan.
Hasan purchased weapons and ammunitions.
Hasan began wearing traditional Pakistani garb in the weeks before attack.
Hasan screamed "allahu akbar!" during his rampage.

Did you hear about Tiger?

The jihadists know they can never win on the battlefield, but they figure there's an excellent chance they can drag things out until Western civilization collapses in on itself and islam inherits by default.

That's what the war's about, our lack of civilizational confidence and identity.

Notice the reaction of just about every prominent Western leader after 9/11 was to visit a mosque, President Bush did, the prince of Wales did, the prime minister of the United Kingdom did, the prime minister of Canada did. The premier of Ontario didn't, and so 20 muslim community leaders had a big summit to denounce him for failing to visit a mosque.

We know it's not really a 'war on terror.' Nor is it, at heart, a war against islam, or even 'radical islam.' The muslim faith, whatever its merits for the believers, is a problematic business for the rest of us. There are many trouble spots around the world, but as a general rule, it's easy to make an educated guess at one of the participants: muslims vs. Jews in 'Palestine,' muslims vs. Hindus in Kashmir, muslims vs. Christians in Africa, muslims vs. Buddhists in Thailand, muslims vs. Russians in the Caucasus, muslims vs. backpacking tourists in Bali. Like the environmentalists, these guys think globally but act locally.

So the jihadists are for the most part doing no more than giving us a prod in the rear as we sleepwalk to the cliff. When I say 'sleepwalk,' it's not because we're a blasé culture. On the contrary, one of the clearest signs of our decline is the way we expend so much energy worrying about the wrong things...

Classic examples of dhimmitude...

Dhimmi mentality is becoming an ever increasing symptom of civilization on the brink. This fawning acceptance of islamic supremacy by Non-muslims with a sense of dread towards offending it has spread far and wide in the 'free' world. The dhimmi subjects are allowed to live and granted second class citizenship. Now the dhimmitude subjects have so internalized this inferior mindset that even being free they continue to revere islam at the cost of other faiths, traditions and cultures. Take Obama for instance, his recent overseas trips he has made it clear that national self-loathing and grovelling to islam will now be basic elements of American foreign policy. That's right, grovelling in subservience to an ideology that not only has enslaved entire populations, but is everywhere known for its cruel violation of basic human rights.
It is one thing to be diplomatic and seek to build bridges to other nations and worldviews. But it is quite another thing to playing down American and Judea-Christian strengths and playing up islamic depravities and weaknesses.
Bat Ye’or’s book Eurabia described the islamisation of Europe. Melanie Phillip’s, Londonistan chronicled the islamic take-over of the UK. We now need a similar book to describe how America seems to be slowly but surely heading down the same path.
Perhaps Americastan or Arabica or some such title can be used. Of course others have been trying to sound the alarm. Robert Spencer’s, Stealth Jihad is a very good start for this subject. But with B.O. now in office, there will be a whole lot more material that will need to be written.

Just watch what has followed. The consensus is white man and America is the source of all evil, that George W. Bush is a greater war criminal than Saddam Hussein ever was, and that Israel poses the greatest threat to world peace. I'm numb, what is the remedy for such chronic stupidity?
I grieve to think how brief the dream of the human intellect has been. It has committed suicide. It has set itself steadfast towards comfort and ease, a wishful balanced society with security and permanency as its hope, it has attained its hopes to come to this...

Israel Follows International Law, Hamas Does Not...

If you want the support of the United Nations, most of the world, and the Western media, the formula is quite simple. All you have to do is as follows:

1. Start by having a founding document that has as its central purpose the perpetration of genocide.
2. Then attack your neighboring country by firing rockets at the civilian population, in violation of international law.
3. Hide your rockets and other terrorist equipment in homes and other location where there are many civilians, to maximize the death and injury count when lawful and necessary defensive measures are taken to neutralize your illegal activity, another violation of international law. When your own people are thus murdered by your own acts, you can use it for propaganda purposes.
You can be sure the Western media will run as many pictures of the dead and injured (for which you are responsible) in a fashion designed to generate sympathy for your position, and that same Western media will be largely uninterested in the civilian casualties caused in the neighboring country by your terrorism.
4. Exaggerate and lie at every opportunity to inflate the number of civilian casualties in your own land (for which you are responsible by hiding military facilities in civilian locations). That’s for the benefit of the Western media, which will of course publish and eat up any exaggeration or fabrication you care to pass along. Even if you have a long history of exaggerating and lying on such matters as civilian casualties, the Western media will continue to take your claims at face value.
5. When your neighbor responds to your illegal, genocidal attacks, appeal to the U.N. and world opinion for a cease-fire so you can rearm and get ready to slaughter and murder civilians in new ways and with greater ferocity, as soon as you want to end the cease-fire.
6. Instead of building your own economy and helping your own people, put all your resources into terrorist attacks against your neighbor and divert the humanitarian aid that flows into your land to your own program for genocide, aggression and terror.
7. When your economy turns sour — which it will do inevitably because your first priority is war and terror and not nation building, which is your last priority — and when it is further damaged by the measures of self-defense taken by your neighbor, claim there is a “humanitarian crisis” and a cease fire and more aid is urgently required.
8. Continue your endless attempts to slaughter and butcher civilians, including those of your neighbor and even those of your own people for propaganda purposes, and then claim any self-defense measures taken by your neighbor are “disproportionate.”
9. Continue to violate every international law on the books, making a mockery not only of law but also of the most basic precepts of humanity and civilization, and then claim your neighbor, who is compelled to act in self-defense, is committing “war crimes.”

By now, I’m sure you know this memo was a precise description of Hamas and its genocidal campaign against Israel, and the reaction of the United Nations, of much of world opinion and of the nations of the world, and of the Western media. To say what is happening is outrageous is a gross understatement, and stronger terms must be resorted to, such as an outbreak of international insanity.
